A Touch of Chalk

I am so excited about today’s project because not only do we learn how to make these adorable stuffy accent pieces (perfect for tiered trays) but we also learn how easy it is to chalk on paper!! This paper technique is perfect for the upcoming holidays because you can use it to create your own wrapping paper!!! How awesome is that?!  Ok so check out this project below. It was such a fun project to make and I only used things that I wanted to repurpose. Feel free to get creative and push your boundaries a little and search for items you have laying around. That board was a serving tray that I was working on that turned into a paint tray for putting my smaller wooden pieces on to paint. It was a very scrappy piece of wood, but that kraft paper kept with the look.  The kraft paper was some left over wrapping paper from last year, yes I chalked on it. I picked it up that the dollar tree and have had it forever, but any paper would work perhaps a paper bag, card stock, or even just...

I love our definition statements transfers from Chalk Couture. They are SO much fun to create with and are fun little affirmations and reminders that are great to feature as part of your home’s daily decor.  This project uses a 12x12” piece of cut wood and our Happy Family transfer . I then took a Chalk Couture simple shape and cut it down to the perfect picture size. I also used these wonderful simple shapes as a stand alone project in yesterday’s video. Feel free to check that out here , these come in a 4 pack.  I love the way the simple shape will hold up the photo off the board.  I then finished it off with some faux flowers from my stash and some matching Lakeshore colored ribbon (to match my paste.) Tic-tac-toe, give me an 'X', give me an 'O'. Love isn't a game, but I created one with this sassy, cut-apart Chalk Transfer design! The DIY potential is making our hearts flutter!!  Isn’t that such a cute project??! And the best part of the whole thing is that it’s SUPER simple to create using a few Chalk Couture paste colors and 1 lovely transfer. I created a fun video showing off just how easy it is to make. Here take a look, it took less than 20 minutes with dry time!! No worries though, I condensed the video into 3 minutes ;) I hope you enjoy it. Isn’t my little model SO cute??
