There are so many wonderful benefits to crafting from feeling accomplished to relieving stress and anxiety. Plus who doesn’t love spending that quality free time doing something fun and meaningful? I know I sure do!
However, sometimes it can be hard to find those 10 minutes to create. Between the kids going to school and practice, the chores and errands, work priorities, and let’s not forget the toddler still at home…sometimes adding more time to squeeze in crafting can be overwhelming.
Let’s think about it. It takes forever to prepare your project, am I right? Whether you are knitting, woodworking, or Chalking you always need time to figure out what project you want to create and whether you have the supplies to create it. More often than not I end up running to the local craft store to grab a missing item. I mean seriously, it takes more time to gather and plan then I spend actually crafting! I hope I am not the only one in this boat.
Something, deep down, tells me I am not the only busy, crafting, mana out there. I know you feel me, I see you sitting over there drinking your coffee. It’s ok! I have spent a lot of time trying to juggle a craft business and three growing kids and I am here to let you know it can be done! You can enjoy crafting again, without all the chaos. Crafting should be a fun time where you can feel accomplished and relaxed.

So, how does one fit it all in and still enjoy those benefits of quality, fun, me time.
Tip #1 - Schedule it in. Whether you need to call your BFF, attend a local class, or block it in after the kids go to bed make sure to plan some time during the week where you can unwind and create.

Not sure where to start, pick up one of our “Try Me” where you get everything you need in one easy to make project. These change monthly to keep things fun and are always discounted to give you more bang for you buck. You can find this month’s Try Me kit here.
Tip #2 - Plan ahead. It’s easy to get caught up in the planning process, but if you plan ahead you are more likely to not get sidetracked. One of my favorite ways of planning ahead is using our Club Couture Subscirption. This subscription box delivers 1 size B transfer to your doorstep every month. It even includes 4+ new, done for you, project ideas every month. This takes care of all the planning.

Tip #3 - Streamline the process. Try to make your process as easy as possible. For example our transfers are used for both ink and paste, so I do not need to get out other supplies when I move from a wooden sign to a t-shirt. This helps me save time and space by reusing the same materials.

Another example of this is when you are batch creating make sure to work in steps. To streamline the process of making 6 cups, I would add the design to all 6 surfaces and then I would let them dry together, then bake together all at once. This video below shows this technique first hand.
