You know I have never ever done a complete video on how I made wine glasses and mugs. Sure I have shown you how I ink on them, making sure to share those tips about applying a design on a curved surface, but I have never actually heat set them in the over then tested the dishwasher (with heat dry!) So today, I am going to walk you through the complete ink setting process for working with glassware and mugs.
Now another cool part about today’s demo is that I get a little fancy with the techniques. Again if you have been hanging out with us for a while you may have seen me play around with the pastes, well I am here to tell you that you can experiment just as much with our inks!! Again another FABULOUS reason why I love Chalk Couture.
Now when I am working on glassware I want to be able to wash it and have that design not wash off. I work in the Cricut/Vinyl world for YEARS and one things about HTV is no matter how much you heat set it, it still is an added layer and has the potential to come off (maybe not right away, but definitely after a couple of washings.) The awesome thing about working with our Chalk Couture Inks is that the ink sets into the surface, not creating a layer but actually becoming one with the surface! I know it’s amazing right?!!
Before we get to the demo I wanted to make sure to share a fun printable for you. This is the perfect cheat sheet for creating all of the glassware whether you are creating on wine glasses, ceramic mugs, plates, mason jars, serving bowls or whatever else your heart desires!
Feel free to print it out or share our link with a friend so they can benefit too.
Here check out the demo below, I make 3 wine glasses each with its own technique.
This is a wonderful video and I hope you enjoyed it!
Until Next Time,
Jen
